Fasting is to reduce levels of cancer

Fasting may be the children's blood cancer treatment, according to a new study found, and experts believe it is possible to reverse the effects of the disease.

Excess fat is known to help advance the process of leptin, a hormone has been found to stimulate the growth of the tumor.

The researchers from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center conducted studies on mice and tried planned restricted diet.

All mice with cancer cells of acute leukemia (ALL), a type of blood cancer occurs most commonly in children. About one in 2,000 children will have the disease. Mouse half were fed a normal mouse every day while another group received food for a day and a diet.

At the end of seven weeks, rats that had fasted almost found the cancer cells, according to the researchers found.

Fasting is known to reduce levels of the hormone leptin, which is a molecular signal cells and established by fat tissue. They found decreased levels of leptin in the blood and bone marrow of mice that were fasting.

They found that mice who receive food usually die within 59 days, while mice who fasted 75 percent survived more than four months with no sign of blood cancer.

Research leader Dr. Chengcheng Zhang said, 'It's surprising that we have found that mice that fasted meals can stop the growth of cancer.

The scientists hope that further research may be conducted in the future to determine the effects of fasting on other forms cancer.
